Weight Loss Exercise: Principles of Exercising
During weight loss exercise, you will notice several prominent reactions. Your breathing becomes faster and heavier, you feel over-all fatigue, and your heart beats faster.
These are our system's responses to exercises, whether you undergo a comprehensive weight loss program or you have just decided to drop by the fitness gym.
Our body, because it is comprised of a number of systems, will have to undergo complex sets of processes in order to accommodate the demands of our working muscles. In a sense, weight loss exercise or any other forms of exercises are complete muscle activities.
Once you begin using your muscles, these will require other parts of your body to move with them, and yes including fats. Mainly in all strenuous activities for weight loss all our body systems will either shut themselves down or contribute to the over-all workings of the muscles. For example, when you are exercising, you heart will pump faster to send more blood to the working muscles. Meanwhile, to increase the availability of energy in the body, the stomach will shut itself to divert the energy to more useful use.
And the energy that our muscles use comes from the nutrients in foods that have been digested and converted into energy sources. In weight losss exercise, our muscles seem to act like the body's electric motors. The energy derived from food will be employed to generate force in the same manner as an electric motor makes use of electricity to sustain the functioning of the system.
In a sense, our muscles act like biochemical motors where a chemical termed as ATP or adenosine triphosphate is used as the primary energy source. This is the same energy, which is concerned in metabolism, a very important factor that helps easier burning off of fats in the body.
Adenosine triphosphate being the prime energy source in the body is also the main proponent in storing energy in our system in the form of ADP. This occurs when too many energy sources are taken in- that in the form of calories.
This happens in the case of excessive intake of foods from which our energy is derived. This is why the main principle of weight loss always falls into caloric intake and caloric expenditure. When too much food is taken, there would be a surplus of energy supply. If this is not addressed properly, the calorie (or energy) that was taken in will be stored in the body.
Calorie, on the other hand, is a unit for measuring energy. Apparently, calories seem to be understood as something closely interrelated with foods. However, it must be taken into consideration that anything that possesses energy can be measured by calories. Say for example, a gallon of gasoline is composed of 31M calories. Or a can of soda, which has around 250 kcal.
It is no more a mystery how the body derives its energy. However, we cannot discuss the entire intricate process that occurs when changing ATP to energy.
As the operation in the muscle increases, the muscle consumes more ATP. That's why when exercising we loose more energy from the reserved fats or more current energy our body has just processed are lost. If for example, these energy resources were not replenished, we would be able to loose weight.
Therefore, if we have lost an accumulation of 3500 calories during a weight loss exercise, we would shed 1 pound of our fats.
